JANUARY 29, 2008 LETTER
TO MIKE HARRIS
Mr. Harris:
My name is John Reid and my boss is Mr. Melvin King. Mr.
King indicated that you were the one responsible for providing
boots for the Iraqi Police Officers we have been assigned
to train. Mr. Harris, I would like to personally thank you
for both what you did for the Iraqi Police Officers who
benefited from your generous gift and your contribution
to the war effort.
I had some police officers who were wearing tennis shoes
with holes in them, while on duty. The boots were a great
investment in helping to win their hearts and minds.
Thank you Sir!
Sincerely
John C. Reid
PS: I have attached a picture of one of the Iraqi Police
who received a pair of boots. I think the look on his face
tells it all.
Thanks again.

BOOTS FOR IRAQI POLICE
SEPTEMBER 1, 2007, Former Fresno Police
Officer, Melvin King, was able to outfit 200 of the officers
he is training with a new pair of boots, which were supplied
by the Brotherhood of the Badge. The boots help to give
the officers a more professional and dependable attire,
instead of the sandals they usually wear.

FLAK VESTS FOR DULUYIAH

15 MAR 07, on COB Speicher, 3/82 Airborne distributed
250 new Pinnacle flak vests to IP
logistics leaders. They will distribute the vests to Duluyiah
IPs, who are in desperate need of vests. The vests were
donated by Operation Soldier, a group funded
by the Brotherhood of the Badge, in Fresno, CA. The group,
led by Mike Harris, collects equipment and donations, and
delivers appropriate gear and supplies to their IP brethren
in the Salah ad Din Province and other areas.
These vests are particularly good for the IPs because they
are lightweight and fit underneath their shirts, encouraging
their use in the heat of summer.
In the picture at the top, 1LT Talbott and SSG Baldwin are
standing on the left, while SGT Tims is kneeling, and Phil,
representing our IPLOs, is standing on the back right. These
men help coordinate the distribution and accountability of
most of the CF-supplied IP gear in AO Panther.
